Who we are *

Welcome new friends!

I’m glad you found our studio online and hope you will check us out on Facebook and Instagram as well! Currently I am accepting new in-person and on-line students! My name is Rachele Holmes and I am a lifelong musician and thespian with over 30 years experience teaching people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities here in Versailles, Kentucky.  Working with people from all different walks of life is the biggest thrill for me as I am a pretty big extrovert who feeds off of other’s excitement! Vocal lessons, singing in church, school and community choirs and attending piano, voice, and theater competitions and camps have been a part of my life since I was little, and my love for the arts has only grown since those early years. Musical theater is my true love and it is such a joy to be able to work with people who have a love for the theater as I do. Throughout the years I have called many local and community theaters “home” and feel most comfortable when creating music and shows with other musicians and actors. The arts community is a lovely place and it is a place I feel most at home.  As a pianist I have won many state and national competitions and awards and continue to challenge myself as well with new pieces.  As a singer, I understand the deep healing power music, especially in the form of singing, has on the physical, spiritual and emotional well-being of individuals and during lessons, we focus on not only the songs, but all that goes into the music.

Teaching has always been something I have done as a part-time job in addition to Hospice and Hospital Chaplaincy, Church pastorates and as a Children’s Music and Theater Pastor in Atlanta, GA and the Lexington, KY area.  Recently I began building and expanding my studio and am teaching group Theater Classes and doing individual theater coaching to school-aged children as well as college students and adults seeking to expand their audition skills.  Teaching people of all ages is especially fulfilling for me because I am able to share my passion for music and theater with a wide range of people.  Every time a student sends me that text, “I got the part!” Or “I feel so much better playing this song in front of people” makes my soul shine because I feel like I am helping people to reach their personal artist goals while also helping them to have the confidence to be able to share their gift with others;  this is a very vulnerable thing for some people and it’s something about which I feel very passionate!

My teaching style is very organic and focused on the individual as everyone’s learning style is unique as is each individual who comes into my studio.  Through my many years as a counselor, I approach each person with kindness and transparency hoping that they will feel my genuine care for them and concern that they become all they want to be!  All I do is from a holistic approach and this is very much a part of who I am day-to-day.  I was taught the classical style of piano but I utilize the Suzuki method as well when necessary;  I find that many people who are neurodivergent appreciate a more multi-technique approach while learning.  At lessons, parents and students or adult students create goals and we often re-visit goals from time-to-time to ensure that students are getting the most out of lessons.

OUR STAFF

Rachele Holmes [Founder and Teacher]

From a very young age I knew that music and theater would be a huge part of my life and my taste in music is quite eclectic and surprising for many!  I have been a part of a rock band, swing choir, band, classical chorale groups and many theater productions as an actor and director.  “Energetic and silly” are words my students use to describe me and I am an extremely enthusiastic person with a lot of joy for life and energy for living, teaching, caring and guiding.  The art of storytelling is something I incorporate into my teaching and interactions with others;  our stories are how we shape our lives and when we tell our stories, we learn a little bit about ourselves.  With a BA in English and a Masters in Theology and Counseling I have spent most of my adult life as a Hospice Chaplain, Senior Pastor and a Pastor of Theater and Music with children in Atlanta, GA. At the age of 18 I began teaching piano and voice and now 34 years later I am still teaching and have added theater to the mix recently! My husband Rich is my anchor and our daugthers, McKenzie (a sophomore at Centre College) and Emory (a junior at WCHS) are the light of my life and have been my students since they were little. Our 4 canine family members, Henri, Waggs, Anna and Bailey are a riot and love to have music in the house all the time! To say I love what I do is an understatement, and I’m so excited to be expanding this business even more now!

Rich Holmes [AV Squad Leader]

With a degree in broadcast communications and graphic design, Rich is the go to guy to solve Ms. Rachele’s tech questions. A designer by day and a video and audio producer, web master by night.  He (yes I am talking about myself in the 3rd person) loves a challenge and to do what ever is necessary to help Rachele and the studio look good! The best part is that working with and living with Rachele keeps him on his toes, as she always has a new idea to benefit her students and the studio.
